Job Description

**Job Title** Applied AI Intern – Summer 2026 **Role Summary** Short‑term research and development internship focused on enterprise‑scale Generative AI (GenAI). Collaborate with the AI Hub data science team to design, prototype, and enhance AI Hub platform components, refine Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, and contribute to UI/UX improvements. **Expectations** - Deliver a functional prototype or platform enhancement within 12 weeks. - Run a scoped pilot and fine‑tune foundation models, evaluate against defined metrics, and integrate findings into platform workflows. - Document methodology, results, and recommendations; present outcomes to stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and implement specific AI Hub platform modules. - Collect, clean, and preprocess data for RAG and function‑calling pipelines. - Fine‑tune language models (GPT/​BERT‑based) on curated, compliant datasets. - Evaluate model performance, iterate based on metrics, and embed insights into platform pipelines. - Assist in redesigning AI Hub UI/UX, suggesting changes to improve usability and visualization of orchestration workflows. - Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to cross‑functional stakeholders. **Required Skills** - Strong foundation in machine learning: deep learning, transformer models, embedding techniques, and vector databases. - Experience (academic or project) with GenAI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) and AI agent communication concepts. - Knowledge of cloud stacks (Azure, Databricks) and distributed computing (Apache Spark). - Familiarity with data engineering best practices. - Proficient in programming (Python, relevant ML libraries). - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field. - Demonstrated strong academic record. - No specific certifications required, but familiarity with relevant cloud or data engineering certifications is a plus.
