Job Description
**Job Title** Project Manager – Commercial Electrical **Role Summary** Lead cost estimating and day‑to‑day project oversight for commercial electrical construction. Ensure accurate schedules, budgets, and client communication while adhering to industry codes and standards. **Expectations** - Deliver complete, accurate estimates within set deadlines. - Maintain project progress and budget integrity. - Serve as primary liaison among clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. - Communicate clearly with management and stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Prepare construction schedules (Microsoft Project/Primavera). - Draft and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients. - Oversee daily project activities; coordinate staffing and resource allocation. - Host and document project meetings; track action items and updates. - Generate weekly/monthly progress reports, billing summaries, and look‑ahead plans. - Compare project documents for accuracy and consistency. - Perform field take‑offs/evaluations for accurate labor and material estimates. - Produce bills of materials and cost breakdowns for purchasing. - Attend field walk‑downs with customers, subcontractors, and staff to assess constructability. - Manage change order preparation and submission. - Monitor job costs vs. budget; report variances to management. - Assist construction personnel in understanding and applying cost estimates. **Required Skills** - 3+ years project management and estimating in electrical construction. - Proficiency reading civil, architectural, mechanical, and structural plans. - Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. - Skilled with estimating software (Accubid or equivalent). - Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, or Primavera. - Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities. - Team‑oriented and capable of collaborating across diverse stakeholders. - Self‑driven with sustained focus on long tasks. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable). - Valid experience in electrical project estimation and management. - Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes and project safety standards.
