Job title: Data Engineer, Baseball Systems Role Summary: Design, build, and maintain high‑performance databases and data pipelines for baseball operations. Translate raw statistical, ball‑tracking, player‑tracking, and biomechanical data into reliable, searchable formats that support scouting, player development, and analytics teams. Expectations: - Deliver robust data infrastructure that scales with growing data volumes. - Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Collaborate across departments to identify new data sources and enhance analytical capabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement relational databases and data warehouses. - Create and maintain ETL pipelines using task orchestration tools. - Optimize database performance, storage, and query efficiency. - Develop monitoring, reporting, and quality‑control mechanisms for data ingestion. - Document schema, data definitions, and system limitations. - Evaluate, select, and deploy new data‑related software and cloud services. - Conduct ad‑hoc queries and analyses as required. - Provide technical support and guidance to baseball operations staff.
