Job Title: Director of Information Technology Programs / Professor of the Practice
Role Summary: Administrative and teaching leader responsible for all undergraduate and graduate IT programs and certificates; directs curriculum, faculty, budget, student success, quality assessment, and community engagement at a 12‑month, 3‑year appointment.
Expectations: Deliver 4 courses annually (3 fall/spring, 2 summer); oversee program operations; maintain a record of professional distinction; participate in programmatic evaluation; support institutional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the B.S. Information Technology, B.S. Applied Cybersecurity, B.P.S. Applied Data Analytics, M.S. Information Technology, and associated certificate programs.
- Design, update, and transition curricula; develop online and hybrid courses.
- Teach and provide academic support across in‑person, hybrid, and online formats.
- Recruit, admit, and retain students; implement student success strategies.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate faculty.
- Manage program budgets and financial reporting.
- Conduct program assessment and quality improvement activities.
- Lead community outreach, alumni relations, and strategic partnerships.
- Represent the program on internal and external academic and professional committees.
Required Skills:
- Strategic program management and curriculum design.
- Proficiency in online/hybrid instructional development (LMS, multimedia tools).
- Faculty leadership, mentorship, and evaluation.
- Student recruitment, advising, and retention strategies.
- Budgeting and financial oversight.
- Program evaluation and assessment methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative teamwork across disciplines.
- Current knowledge of IT, cybersecurity, and data‑analytics trends.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or professional doctorate) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of industry experience in IT/Cybersecurity.
- At least 2–3 years of higher‑education teaching or instructional design experience.
- Professional IT certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, MCSE, CompTIA Security+).
- Evidence of a teaching philosophy and commitment to student learning.
