About the Company

Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), led by Minnesota's Chief Information Officer, is the Information Technology (IT) agency for Minnesota's executive branch, providing the full range of IT services to over 70 agencies, boards, and commissions. MNIT also makes available a subset of services to other Minnesota government entities and education institutions. MNIT sets IT strategy, direction, policies and standards for the State. We manage over 2,000 distinct applications, both citizen-facing and back-office. We build, maintain and secure the State's IT infrastructure. Job Description
**Job Title** Salesforce Developer – ITS4 **Role Summary** A temporary (up to 2 years) IT Specialist focused on the design, development, and modernization of Salesforce CRM, Public Sector Solutions, and Marketing Cloud for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. The role delivers custom Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components, integrates with SQL data stores, and implements cloud services. **Expectations** - Deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable Salesforce solutions. - Collaborate with cross‑functional product teams to align technology with business needs. - Stay current with Salesforce releases and emerging technologies. - Support configuration and ongoing administration of Salesforce applications. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Solution Design & Development** – Create Apex classes, triggers, Visualforce pages, and Lightning components. 2. **Integration** – Develop SQL and SOQL queries, integrate external systems via Logic Apps, Java, and other cloud services. 3. **Application Administration** – Maintain Salesforce applications, perform data management, and ensure system performance. 4. **Architectural Guidance** – Provide input on system architecture, scalability, and security best practices. 5. **Product Team Collaboration** – Share ideas, participate in sprint planning, and assist in road‑mapping. 6. **Documentation & Knowledge Transfer** – Produce technical documentation and facilitate team knowledge sharing. **Required Skills** - Minimum 4 years of Salesforce development experience. - Proficiency in Apex, triggers, Visualforce, Lightning components, SOQL, and SOSL. - Experience with SQL databases and data integration within Salesforce. - Familiarity with cloud services such as Logic Apps and Java integrations. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrated customer‑service orientation (active listening, empathy, problem solving). - Ability to work onsite (minimum 50 % of time) and telework. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field OR equivalent experience. - Master’s degree in IT or related field substitutes for 3 years of experience (not required if Bachelor's + 2 years experience). - Salesforce Platform Developer I/II certification preferred or equivalent credentials.
