Job Description
**Job Title:** Sr. Java Developer – IBM Sterling **Role Summary:** Senior Java developer responsible for leading design, development, testing, and deployment of large‑scale Order Management System (OMS) and B2B integration solutions using Java and IBM Sterling platforms. Provides technical leadership, collaborates with cross‑functional teams, and ensures high‑quality, scalable enterprise delivery in an Agile/DevOps environment. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5 years of professional Java/J2EE development experience. - At least 3 years of hands‑on implementation, customization, and support of IBM Sterling solutions (OMS or B2B Integrator). - Ability to lead technical design reviews, mentor junior staff, and deliver 3rd‑level production support. - Strong communication skills for interfacing with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead end‑to‑end development of Java‑based solutions on IBM Sterling (design, code, test, deploy). - Serve as subject‑matter expert for medium‑to‑large Sterling projects; conduct high‑level design and code reviews. - Customize Sterling modules, create user exits, develop APIs, and configure platform to meet business needs. - Integrate Sterling with enterprise systems (payment gateways, e‑commerce platforms) using REST, SOAP, MQ/JMS. - Implement omnichannel requirements for retail/e‑commerce operations. - Troubleshoot complex production issues; provide 3rd‑level application support. - Mentor junior developers and actively participate in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD pipelines. **Required Skills:** - Java, J2EE, OOP design patterns. - IBM Sterling OMS or Sterling B2B Integrator (implementation, configuration, support). - XML, XSLT, SQL. - Web services (SOAP, REST) and messaging (MQ, JMS). - Agile methodology, Git (or similar version control), CI/CD tools. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Relevant IBM Sterling certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
