**Job Title**
Ride Control Systems Engineer, Senior
**Role Summary**
Lead the conception, design, and delivery of control systems for complex amusement ride projects. Apply systems engineering, functional safety, and advanced control theory to ensure safe, reliable, and innovative ride experiences worldwide.
**Expectations**
- Manage full lifecycle of control system development from requirements to commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849, ASTM F2291).
- Deliver multiple concurrent projects while coordinating cross‑functional teams.
- Travel domestically and internationally for installation, testing, and support (1 week to 3 years per assignment).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define use cases, user needs, and functional specifications; produce documentation, drawings, and models.
- Design, model, and analyze control architectures, communication networks, and dynamic systems.
- Develop control strategies, algorithms, and prototype/mock‑up implementations.
- Create implementation plans, budgets, test requirements, and lead verification testing.
- Conduct research on emerging products, technologies, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and creative teams to integrate control solutions.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in fail‑safe, safety‑related control system design.
- Deep knowledge of control processors, components, and industrial networks (TCP/IP, CAN, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT).
- Expertise in installation, integration, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with requirements management, test plan creation, and execution.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex efforts and prioritize tasks.
**Preferred Skills**
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, SolidWorks.
- Experience with Rockwell and Siemens automation platforms.
- Expertise in motor/motion control, pneumatic devices, and advanced control theory (closed‑loop, MIMO, positioning).
- Knowledge of international amusement industry standards (e.g., France, Hong Kong, China).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline (BS required; EE preferred).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849) and amusement ride standards (ASTM F2291).
