Job Description
Job title: Technical Production Manager – Speech Tech (6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract) Role Summary: Manage end‑to‑end voice production across multiple speech‑technology and dataset projects, overseeing cost, schedule, quality, and client communication to deliver high‑quality voice assets on time and within budget. Expectations: - Deliver projects that meet client specifications, timelines, and financial targets. - Maintain transparent communication with clients and internal teams. - Continuously improve workflows and tools to increase efficiency and quality. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare initial and detailed cost estimates based on client briefs. - Review, edit, and negotiate client, vendor, and talent contracts, spotting errors and negotiating fees for studio partners in required territories. - Build and maintain project schedules for recording sessions, updating them as scripts evolve. - Prepare scripts and essential audio/video reference materials for talent, directors, and studio engineers. - Brief studio teams, providing technical guidance and answering queries. - Track recording progress, manage bookings, and adjust to script changes. - Coordinate final asset delivery with the audio delivery team, ensuring adherence to client best‑practice standards. - Monitor and manage all production costs, addressing any queries or issues. - Communicate regularly with clients, informing them of progress and resolving concerns. - Ensure QA and editing meet the highest standards and are completed on schedule. - Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and implement new processes or tools. - Develop advanced Excel dashboards and VBA tools to streamline project management. Required Skills: - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project management or coordinator role with similar scope. - Proven ability to oversee multiple budgets exceeding £50,000 each. - Advanced Excel skills, including VBA scripting; familiarity with Python is a plus. - Expertise in audio editing/production software (Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, iZotope, etc.). - Experience managing large file volumes across multiple projects and languages. - Strong resource‑allocation, planning, and strategic thinking. - Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. - Self‑motivated team player capable of leading and being guided by senior staff. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production, Audio Engineering, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or audio production (e.g., ATC) are highly regarded but not mandatory.
