Job Title: Artificial Intelligence Consultant
Role Summary: Lead the identification, evaluation, selection, and ongoing management of external AI vendors and technology partners. Build and maintain a structured framework for proof‑of‑concept initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, compliance, and performance objectives. Act as the primary liaison between vendors, technical teams, procurement, business units, and legal, driving successful implementation and continuous value delivery.
Expactations:
- Establish a prioritized vendor portfolio covering the majority of AI use cases.
- Maintain governance, agreements, and risk mitigation for all AI partnerships.
- Deliver regular performance, ROI, and risk reports to leadership.
- Stay current on AI vendor landscape and trend analyses.
- Support roadmap development and cross‑functional knowledge transfer.
- Facilitate problem resolution and escalation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain a repeatable framework for AI proof‑of‑concepts with approved suppliers.
- Research, assess, and shortlist AI vendors, startups, and technology partners that align with strategic objectives.
- Conduct capability assessments, proof‑of‑concept walkthroughs, and business impact modeling.
- Coordinate with AI Strategy, IT, procurement, and business units to meet functional, technical, and security requirements.
- Negotiate and secure vendor agreements with clear governance and compliance clauses.
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with AI partners to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing support.
- Track vendor performance metrics, ROI, and risk indicators; produce actionable reports.
- Monitor emerging AI technologies, competitive positioning, and partnership trends.
- Facilitate cross‑functional knowledge sharing to accelerate adoption of AI solutions.
- Develop and update AI partnership roadmaps and ensure alignment with broader corporate priorities.
- Act as liaison to resolve vendor‑related issues, optimize solutions, and manage escalations.
Required Skills
- 2+ years in vendor management, partnership, procurement, or product strategy, preferably within AI/tech.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and vendor enablement for business solutions.
- Proven ability to evaluate vendor capabilities, perform business impact modeling, and manage procurement processes.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and bridging technical and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, compliance, and vendor governance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influence skills.
- Strong organizational skillset with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple vendor relationships simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management & vendor tracking tools (e.g., Jira, DevOps, Excel, procurement platforms).
- Current awareness of AI industry trends and ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated vendor management or partnership experience in AI/tech context.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), PMP, or similar are advantageous but not mandatory.
