Job title: Bilingual Events Specialist
Role Summary
An events specialist who plans, coordinates, and executes full‑cycle business development events for a national law firm. The role requires bilingual proficiency (English/French), budget management, stakeholder engagement, and detailed reporting to support client acquisition and firm branding.
Expectations
* Execute internal and external events across Canada, including in‑person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
* Deliver high‑quality events within specified budgets and timelines.
* Provide strategic advice on venue, technology, content, and target audiences.
* Maintain event data in Salesforce and produce performance reports with ROI insights.
* Collaborate with lawyers, attorneys, marketing, and national Events team on cross‑functional projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and manage end‑to‑end event processes: venue selection, contract negotiation, vendor coordination, AV, catering, staffing, registration, and on‑site support.
* Develop targeted guest lists (clients, prospects) in partnership with client‑market stakeholders.
* Create and adhere to event workback schedules, budgets, and deliverable checklists.
* Produce pre‑ and post‑event reports: attendance, spend, opportunities, ROI, and lessons learned.
* Update intranet, firm website, and marketing materials with event information.
* Maintain real‑time event campaigns in Salesforce.
* Support regional marketing initiatives, including Ontario‑specific activities.
* Contribute to special projects within the Clients & Markets and National Events teams.
Required Skills
* Bilingual (English/French) written and verbal communication.
* Expertise in full‑cycle event planning; experience with hybrid, virtual (Zoom, WebEx, Teams), and in‑person formats.
* Strong organizational and project‑management skills; ability to juggle multiple events concurrently.
* Proficient in budget management and cost negotiation.
* Detail‑oriented with a proactive, business‑focused mindset.
* Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Education & Certifications
* Post‑secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent).
* Minimum 4 years of full‑cycle event planning experience in corporate, hospitality, or Not‑For‑Profit environments.
* Professional designations such as CMP, DES, VEMM, PMP are an asset.
