**Job Title**: Java/PHP Developer **Role Summary** Develop Java and PHP web applications in a long‑term contract capacity. Work as part of an IT Scheduled Releases team to design, code, test, and document solutions that meet technical, accessibility, and security standards on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. **Expectations** * 4+ years of professional web‑development experience. * Long‑term contract engagement with occasional on‑site presence. * Ability to pass a background check. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop full‑stack Java solutions with a focus on front‑end implementation using EAP 8, Java OpenJDK 1.8+, Spring Batch 2.1.8, and iText‑2.1.5. * Build, test, and maintain PHP server‑side components on a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). * Participate in all SDLC phases: analysis, diagnostics, design, development, testing, and deployment. * Troubleshoot client and internal system issues, create and execute test cases, and document defects. * Design and develop secure, accessible, and usable web applications; apply OWASP best practices (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, WAF). * Migrate web content from legacy servers to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, coordinating with web, Unix, and IT teams. * Maintain code quality and documentation standards; manage source code via GitHub or similar VCS. * Support ongoing operations and adapt style guides and standards as needed. **Required Skills** * Java (EAP 8, Spring Batch, iText). * PHP (LAMP stack, server‑side development). * Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x/8 and CodeReady Studio. * Relational databases (MySQL, DB2). * Web security (OWASP, WAF, secure coding). * Version control (GitHub), IDEs (Visual Studio Code). * Front‑end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript). * Ability to collaborate across web, Unix, and IT teams. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent 4+ years of professional experience. * Red Hat Certified Engineer or similar certifications are an asset but not mandatory.
