Job title: Service Transition Manager – SC Cleared
Role Summary:
Lead planning, execution, and delivery of end‑user service transitions, ensuring seamless handover from development to production. Collaborate with programme, operations, and external stakeholders to align transition plans, coordinate resources, and maintain service quality throughout the transition lifecycle.
Expectations:
- Hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) – lapsed clearance acceptable at time of application.
- Demonstrated experience in full‑cycle service transition – from concept and design through build, testing, and run.
- Proven track record in project and programme delivery for systems, infrastructure, and services entering live environments.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the complete Service Transition process (creation, design, build, stage‑gate, and run).
- Develop, document, and maintain transition plans, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and operational readiness.
- Coordinate and allocate programme and operational resources to support smooth handover of services.
- Act as the primary liaison between development, operations, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
- Facilitate transition activities such as risk assessments, change approvals, and service validation testing.
- Monitor and report transition progress, issues, and outcomes to senior management.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in service artefact creation, build, and stage‑gate processes.
- Experience delivering projects/programmes focused on system, infrastructure, and service implementation into production.
- Knowledge of Azure and DevOps toolsets is a plus.
- Proficiency in ITIL framework and Agile project management (Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- ITIL Foundation (or higher) certification.
- Agile certification (Scrum Master, Product Owner) highly desirable.
- Active or lapsed UK SC security clearance.
