Job Description: **Job Title** Thermal Engineer **Role Summary** Design, model, and validate thermal performance of electronic enclosures and printed circuit assemblies for a Kuiper Modem Module and Optical Communications Terminal v2. Provide thermal analysis support to mechanical and electrical teams, develop testing plans, and document results. **Expectations** - Deliver accurate thermal models using Ansys tools (Fluent, ICEPAK, Mechanical) or Thermal Desktop (SINDA). - Plan, set up, and execute thermal test campaigns, including thermocouple and heater installation, DAQ operation, and power supply management. - Correlate test data with simulation results to verify system performance. - Produce detailed test reports and technical documentation facilitating design decisions and product qualification. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Perform trade‑study analyses for electronic enclosure architecture. 2. Conduct preliminary thermal analysis of PCB assemblies. 3. Collaborate with design team to refine preliminary mechanical designs. 4. Develop comprehensive thermal analysis documentation and qualification plans. 5. Execute thermal tests, validate models, and incorporate findings into product design. 6. Provide design inputs to mechanical and electrical teams for ongoing projects. **Required Skills** - ≥3 years experience with Thermal Desktop (SINDA) and/or Ansys thermal tools (ICEPAK, Fluent, Mechanical). - ≥2 years experience in thermal test planning, setup, DAQ usage, and power supply operation. - Proficiency in documenting and writing test reports. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
