**Job Title:** Senior Data Scientist
**Role Summary:**
Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics and machine‑learning solutions for Disney Consumer Products’ brick‑and‑mortar and e‑commerce retail channels. Drive data‑informed decisions that improve customer segmentation, assortment rationalization, promotion optimization, and demand forecasting across global retail operations.
**Expectations:**
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong retail focus.
- Proven ability to translate complex analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding data‑science best practices and mentoring junior analysts.
- Strong business acumen and experience partnering with merchandising, marketing, finance, and operations teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, build, and productionize statistical and machine‑learning models (regression, classification, clustering, time‑series) for retail use cases.
- Architect scalable data pipelines and model workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud services (GCP, Snowflake).
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and self‑service analytics (Tableau, Looker) to monitor metrics and model performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to define analytics problems and deliver insights that drive revenue and guest experience.
- Mentor data‑science staff, enforce code quality, model validation, reproducibility, and responsible AI practices.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced statistical modeling: regression, ARIMA/Prophet forecasting, causal inference, XGBoost, LightGBM.
- Experimental design: A/B testing, geo‑lift studies, other causal frameworks.
- Python: expert‑level proficiency with pandas, scikit‑learn, statsmodels, PyMC, and production‑ready coding.
- SQL: expert‑level querying and data pipeline automation on large retail datasets.
- Cloud & Big Data: experience with Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake (or equivalent).
- Data visualization: strong Tableau (or Looker) dashboard development skills.
- Retail domain expertise: customer segmentation, demand forecasting, promotion analysis, assortment planning for both physical and digital channels.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field (required).
- Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (preferred).
- No specific certifications mandated; relevant industry certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Tableau Desktop Specialist) are a plus.
