**Job Title** Software Engineer II **Role Summary** Mid‑level developer responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure backend services and web applications that power mobile and provider portals in a digital health platform. Heavy coding focus with collaboration on product design, AI integration, and continuous delivery pipelines. **Expectations** - 3–5 years of production‑grade software development. - Deliver clean, tested, and efficient code in an agile, cross‑functional environment. - Active contributor to architecture decisions and system design. - Self‑motivated learner, comfortable adopting new languages, tools, and AI technologies. **Key Responsibilities** - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design, implement, and deploy REST/GraphQL APIs that support mobile and web experiences. - Write high‑quality code, conduct peer reviews, and author unit/integration tests to maintain platform stability. - Participate in on‑call rotation to triage production incidents and ensure reliability. - Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, GenAI) into existing workflows and explore new AI tools for development automation. - Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements, Docker/Kubernetes deployments, and cloud infrastructure management (AWS). - Document architecture, design decisions, and operational guidance for team and stakeholders. **Required Skills** - Programming: Ruby or Python (proficient). - Frontend: React or Vue. - Databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL – experience designing scalable schemas and secure APIs. - API Design: REST/GraphQL, authentication, rate limiting. - DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services (RDS, SQS, S3). - Testing: unit and integration testing frameworks. - AI/GenAI: exposure to LLMs, GenAI best practices, and tools like Cursor or Copilot. - Collaboration: excellent written and verbal communication, cross‑functional teamwork. - Problem‑solving: curiosity, prioritize solutions over being right, strong debugging skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Cloud or AI-related certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
