**Job Title:** Fire & Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Provide technical leadership for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, fire extinguishers and data cabling. Support a field‑based engineering team, mentor junior staff, manage key projects, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and customer expectations.

- Deliver high‑quality, compliant installations and maintenance services.
- Act as primary technical resource and trainer for field personnel.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relations.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and report results.
- Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving, strong communication, and teamwork.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence (or equivalent for mobile duties).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead or support design, installation, and commissioning of fire and security systems per client specs and regulatory standards.
- Provide on‑site technical support and troubleshooting for field engineers; liaise between office and field teams.
- Conduct regular (6–12 month) maintenance visits for a diverse client base (gyms, schools, retail, residential), inspecting and servicing fire alarms, intrusion alarms, CCTV, access control, fire extinguishers, and associated cabling.
- Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets; ensure delivery of high‑quality work.
- Train and mentor junior engineers; deliver field training sessions and share best practices.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, test reports, inspection records, and compliance certificates (e.g., BS 5834, BS 5834:2000).
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and schedule work.
- Participate in risk assessments, safety briefings, and change‑management processes.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools; ensure equipment is calibrated and calibrated.
**Required Skills:**
- Experience installing, commissioning, fault‑finding and maintaining fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, fire extinguisher, and data cabling systems.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire and security regulations (e.g., BS 5834, BS 5300).
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Minimum of a degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Fire Safety Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as Carfax, NFPA 72, BS 5834 training, or equivalent UK qualifications.
- Ongoing professional development in fire protection or security technology.
