Job Title: Cloud Virtualization DevOps Engineer III
**Role Summary**
Build, deploy, and manage code to automate, monitor, and improve reliability of a private cloud infrastructure. Lead infrastructure-as-code initiatives, uphold service level objectives, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support enterprise digital transformation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Streamline automation, visibility, and reliability across virtualized environments.
- Define, monitor, and report on SLOs for infrastructure and applications.
- Integrate operational technologies into comprehensive monitoring tools.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve both internal and customer‑facing issues.
- Conduct requirement‑gathering meetings with stakeholders for feature design.
- Lead change‑management training and support organizational adoption.
- Participate in platform roadmap planning and vendor evaluation.
- Plan, document, and maintain MOPs and engineering standards.
- Evangelize automation, provide executive updates, and drive continuous improvement.
- Research and resolve high‑severity incidents using diverse information sources.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
- Create and maintain infrastructure documentation (diagrams, workbooks).
- Review and prepare Change Requests, MOPs, and related documentation.
- Mentor Level I and II Cloud Engineers in best practices.
**Required Skills**
- Expertise in Linux/Windows OS and VMware vCenter/ESXi.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Ansible, PowerShell, JavaScript/JSON, REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of IaC, Agile release management, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Chef, Ansible Tower).
- Container technologies (Docker, Swarm, etc.) and orchestration fundamentals.
- Network protocols: BGP peering, HSRP, IP subnetting, SNMP, SMTP, DHCP, DNS.
- Ability to write, maintain, and update playbooks and code repositories.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective in matrixed, cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to mentor junior staff and invest in continuous learning.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive IT engineering experience, with at least 6 years in systems engineering focused on IaC and DevOps.
- One or more industry certifications: VCP‑DCV, MCSA/MCSE, RHSE/RHSA, or similar.
- Relevant DevOps/SRE certification preferred.
- US citizenship required by law for federal contracts.
