**Job title:** Pilot Plant Production Manager
**Role Summary:** Lead the full end‑to‑end construction, commissioning, and handover of a multimillion‑euro pilot copper‑wire plant, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, and safety standards.
**Expectations:** Deliver the pilot plant on time, within budget, and compliant with all regulatory and safety requirements. Manage a high‑performance construction and operations team, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and provide data‑driven progress reports to leadership and investors.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own the project from late‑stage concept through mechanical completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain the L3/L4 schedule, cost baseline, cash‑flow curve, and risk register.
- Select, manage, and close out trade contractors; handle change orders and supervise installation.
- Implement and enforce HSE practices, ensuring a safety‑first culture.
- Coordinate all permits, building‑use changes, environmental and ICPE approvals, and utility tie‑ins (MV/LV power, process water, gas, compressed air).
- Track earned value, approve progress payments, and protect contingencies.
- Align construction phases with equipment deliveries, commissioning windows, and ramp‑up targets.
- Lead post‑commissioning facility certifications, validations, and building occupancy attestations.
- Provide regular, data‑driven updates on progress, risks, and mitigations to senior leadership and investors.
**Required Skills:**
- 10+ years managing multimillion‑euro industrial retrofit or tenant‑improvement projects with heavy process equipment.
- Proven track record of mechanical completion and delivering results on time and on budget.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Hands‑on expertise in utility and building‑services upgrades (MV/LV power distribution, compressed air, process water, gas, fire‑protection).
- Familiarity with construction management software (Primavera, Procore, BIM) and digital reporting tools.
- Knowledge of French permits/codes (urbanisme, ICPE), labour law, and landlord approvals.
- Ability to manage green‑to‑brownfield conversions and install high‑load machinery in standard warehouses.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or industrial engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management credentials are preferred.
- Experience in metallurgy or related non‑ferrous metals industries (cable, rolling, foundry, smelting, continuous casting).
