Job Description
**Job Title:** Mobile QA Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive mobile test automation strategy for iOS and Android applications. Build reusable testing frameworks using XCTest and Espresso, integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product teams to instill a quality-first culture. **Expectations:** - Design and implement mobile test automation from scratch as the inaugural Mobile QA Engineer. - Deliver high‑quality, scalable testing solutions that keep pace with rapid feature launches. - Mentor and influence cross‑functional teams on best testing practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect end‑to‑end mobile test automation frameworks for Swift/Combine/SwiftUI (iOS) and Kotlin/Retrofit/Jetpack (Android). - Write, maintain, and extend automated unit, UI, and integration tests covering MVVM components. - Configure and manage GitHub Actions workflows to run tests on every commit and pull request. - Diagnose and fix flaky tests, integrating robust retry and logging strategies. - Work with backend, React, and Postgres services to validate API contracts and data integrity. - Collaborate with product managers to define quality metrics and acceptance criteria. - Scale testing practices to support growth from thousands to millions of users. - Advocate for continuous improvement of the mobile quality culture across the organization. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years of mobile test automation experience (iOS – XCTest, Android – Espresso). - Proficiency in Swift and Kotlin, with solid understanding of MVVM architecture. - Experience building and maintaining modular test frameworks. - Familiarity with CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar platforms. - Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for test support and data generation. - Ability to troubleshoot across multiple layers: UI, networking (Retrofit/OkHttp), and backend services. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced startup environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant QA or test automation certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Appium Certified Tester) are a plus.
