Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Business Analyst – Auto Systems & Reporting
Role Summary:
Responsible for capturing, documenting, and delivering end‑to‑end reporting solutions for auto finance support and field operations. Acts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, data owners, and development teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high‑quality reports.
Expectations:
- Deliver fully functional reports that meet documented business requirements within agreed timelines.
- Maintain high data quality and integrity across all reporting assets.
- Provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders and management through dashboards and periodic updates.
- Support continuous improvement of data architecture, reporting processes, and automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with stakeholders to gather, translate, and validate reporting requirements; produce wireframe mockups and source data mappings.
- Research data sources, develop and test complex SQL queries to enable report development.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation (requirements, rulebooks, test plans, stakeholder approvals).
- Serve as the main point of contact for report support, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
- Lead daily development team meetings; prioritize backlog and track progress using Jira dashboards.
- Conduct weekly stakeholder meetings to report status, resolve blockers, and groom backlog.
- Monitor and report on team activity metrics; produce regular management updates.
- Partner with IT to optimize data architecture, data utilization, and reporting tools.
- Develop and enforce data quality rules, run test cases, and verify report accuracy.
- Administer IBM Cognos reporting site and multiple Power BI workspaces, dashboards, and apps.
- Participate in data thought‑leadership projects and other special assignments as required.
Required Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication; excellent organization and documentation.
- Thorough, detail‑oriented approach to data extraction and validation.
- SQL development and execution, preferably cloud‑based.
- Power BI and IBM Cognos development and administration.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel & Power Query (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- SharePoint site creation and administration.
- Jira and Confluence usage.
- Data quality rule creation and testing.
- Basic VBA automation; Python knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with large, multi‑source data extraction.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related data discipline (required).
- Master’s degree in the same fields (preferred).
- No specific certifications required but relevant data or BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, IBM Cognos Analytics) are advantageous.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years in business intelligence or reporting roles, ideally within consumer or auto finance industry.
- Proven track record delivering complex reports and dashboards for finance operations.
- Experience collaborating with partners to capture requirements and document data sources.
