Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary: Design, build, and support enterprise IT environments with a focus on Microsoft Azure, SonicWALL/Fortinet firewalls, Windows Server, PowerShell, and Python automation. Provide advanced network, server, and VoIP support to a team of three engineers while ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
Expectations: Deliver proactive network optimization, document solutions, and communicate effectively across departments. Maintain recovery protocols, manage outages with minimal business impact, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineer high‑level network designs and policies using HPE/Aruba switches, Fortinet firewalls, and Azure networking.
2. Deploy, configure, and maintain routers, switches, access points, VoIP systems, Microsoft 365, and Azure resources.
3. Automate tasks and processes via PowerShell and Python scripts.
4. Monitor network performance, perform capacity planning, and recommend enhancements.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and server issues, prioritizing incidents and maintaining composure under pressure.
6. Provide second‑ and third‑level support to help desk teams and stakeholders.
7. Coordinate training for site technicians on new hardware and software deployments.
8. Manage small to large‑scale infrastructure projects, documenting designs and changes.
Required Skills:
• Proficient in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Expertise in networking with HPE/Aruba switches, Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and related firewall technologies.
• Strong experience in Azure Cloud networking and Microsoft Server environments.
• PowerShell scripting and basic Python automation.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, and network security best practices.
• Experience with VoIP solutions such as Sangoma Telephony (plus).
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and incident management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• Certifications: Azure Administrator or Engineer (or Cloud certification), CompTIA Network+ / CCNA, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate preferred.
