**Job Title**
Senior DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and automated delivery pipelines for climate‑risk analytics platforms. Drive continuous improvement of AWS-based services, Kubernetes workloads, and observability tooling to enable rapid, reliable software releases and operations at scale.
**Expectations**
- Lead architecture and operational strategy for cloud and CI/CD systems.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and cost‑efficiency of containerized and serverless workloads.
- Champion GitOps and IaC practices, mentoring teammates on modern DevOps workflows.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and evolve AWS infrastructure (EKS, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) with automated testing, security scanning, and blue/green deployments.
- Implement and manage Terraform modules for reproducible, versioned infrastructure across environments.
- Migrate workloads from ECS to EKS and enhance Kubernetes performance, scaling, and monitoring.
- Design and enforce IAM, secrets management, and network segmentation to meet industry security standards.
- Deploy and operate observability stack (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) for proactive incident response.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application‑level incidents to meet SLA targets.
- Collaborate with software engineers to optimize developer experience and deployment cycles.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in AWS (EKS, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink).
- Strong Kubernetes experience (deployment, scaling, monitoring, migration).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
- Hands‑on Terraform IaC implementation and governance.
- GitOps workflow ownership and automation.
- Cloud security fundamentals: IAM policies, secrets management, VPC design.
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, New Relic, Datadog).
- Troubleshooting and incident response in multi‑environment cloud setups.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
- Kubernetes Certified Application Developer (CKAD) or Kubernetes Certified DevOps Engineer (CKAD/CKA).
- Terraform Associate certification is a strong plus.
