Job Description
Job title: Tier 1 Helpdesk Technician Role Summary: Provide first‑line technical support for desktop, laptop, mobile, and peripheral devices, resolve basic software and network issues, and maintain accurate documentation in the ticketing system. Expactations: Deliver timely, professional assistance via phone, email, and tickets; maintain high customer satisfaction; collaborate with Tier 2 support for escalations; continuously update knowledge base. Key Responsibilities: - Receive and triage support requests from users. - Diagnose and resolve day‑to‑day technical problems: hardware, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 apps, printers, point‑of‑sale peripherals. - Perform password resets and account access tasks using Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Active Directory. - Configure and deploy new hardware and software per IT standards. - Log all activities and solutions accurately in the ticketing system. - Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Tier 2 or specialized teams. - Create and update support documentation and internal knowledge articles. Required Skills: - Windows 10/11 operating system proficiency. - Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 usage. - Ticketing system experience (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.). - Basic Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Admin Center knowledge. - Fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS). - Strong written and verbal communication. - Problem‑solving and analytical mindset. - Customer‑service orientation and professionalism. - Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and in a team. Required Education & Certifications: - High school diploma or GED (minimum). - Associate degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. - CompTIA A+ or equivalent technical certification is a bonus.
