Job Description
Job Title: Junior Cosmetic Scientist, R&D Role Summary: Support the R&D team in new product development, formulation, and stability testing on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover role. Work independently with senior cosmetic scientists to deliver data‑driven insights, manage project milestones, and document technical information. Expectations: 2‑4 years of laboratory experience, strong knowledge of cosmetic product formulation, ability to lead small projects and make recommendations, deliver results on time, and collaborate effectively across teams. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage new product development projects, coordinating timelines and deliverables. - Partner with Cosmetic Scientists to provide accurate data, scientific rationale, and actionable recommendations. - Manufacture laboratory batches and conduct stability and other relevant tests. - Communicate project status, outcomes, and recommendations orally and in writing to managers and stakeholders. - Anticipate and resolve formulation challenges; identify and implement new learning plans. - Document technical information, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols. Required Skills: - Hands‑on laboratory skill set and practical formulation expertise. - Strong attention to detail, organizational and time‑management abilities. - Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; self‑aware of capabilities. - Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned work, and demonstrate confidence in data. - Effective oral and written communication.
