Merchandise Planner
**Role Summary**
Analytical strategist driving product lifecycle decisions across fashion, apparel, and accessories. Uses trend, consumer, and sales data to shape brand positioning, assortment, pricing, and expansion strategies, while ensuring alignment with design, merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver data‑driven insights to senior leadership on market trends, growth opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Translate analytics into actionable plans for forecasting, pricing, and assortments.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to balance creative vision with commercial objectives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of fashion cycles, consumer behavior, and sustainability efforts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Track industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor strategies to identify new product categories, sustainability initiatives, and partnership opportunities.
- Partner with senior leadership to define brand and business strategy, positioning and evaluate expansion or market entry initiatives.
- Manage forecasting, demand planning, and revenue planning for new product launches and market entries, including pricing and assortment strategy.
- Analyze sales, e‑commerce, and social media data to uncover revenue drivers, growth potential, and trade marketing effectiveness.
- Prepare seasonal and annual business plans, assess risks, and recommend actions on pricing, market entry, or product mix.
- Monitor margins, sell‑throughs, markdowns, inventory levels, and reporting on sales trends and risks.
- Develop strategic presentations and BI reports for senior management covering brand direction, margin and price point efficiency, and supplier management.
**Required Skills**
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel, BI tools, data modelling).
- Proficient in interpreting large datasets (sales, e‑commerce, social media) into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities for senior leadership.
- Ability to collaborate across design, merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills for multi‑project management.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, fashion management, marketing, or related field.
- Experience specifically within fashion, apparel, or accessories sector.
- Permanent right to work in the UK.
