**Job Title**: Senior Legal Counsel France (h/f/g)
**Role Summary**:
Senior legal advisor responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, overseeing compliance initiatives (GDPR, corporate compliance, intellectual property), and advising on employment law within a fast‑growing European company. Operates primarily in French with cross‑border collaboration in English, providing legal leadership to product, operations, HR, and compliance teams.
**Expectations**:
- Deliver accurate, business‑oriented legal solutions under tight deadlines.
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non‑legal stakeholders in both French and English.
- Act proactively, balancing legal risk management with commercial pragmatism in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Draft, review, negotiate commercial contracts (client, supplier, partner, distributor, lease, employment).
- Lead compliance initiatives: audits, client questionnaires, tender documents, GDPR compliance.
- Structure commercial offers and manage legal risk in contracting and technical/commercial negotiations.
- Protect intellectual property assets (trademarks, patents) across France and Europe.
- Advise HR on employment law, internal regulations, conflict resolution, and litigation.
- Participate in cross‑border legal team (France & Germany) and collaborate with Product, Operations, HR, and Compliance.
**Required Skills**:
- Proven experience in commercial contract law and negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of French legal framework, GDPR, intellectual property, and corporate compliance.
- Bilingual proficiency: French (70% usage) and English (30% usage) – ability to explain complex legal topics to non‑legal audiences.
- Excellent written and oral communication, empathy, solution‑orientation, and calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving, cross‑functional, international setting.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Law degree (LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent).
- Qualified legal professional in France (e.g., French attorney, notary, or equivalent).
- Relevant certifications in GDPR or data protection, and/or intellectual property law are advantageous.
