DevOps / Platform Engineer (Developer-Focused)
**Role Summary**
Engineer end‑to‑end CI/CD pipeline and platform infrastructure to support hybrid on‑premise and AWS environments. Act as a bridge between software and operations, driving improvements in developer productivity, pipeline reliability, and operational excellence.
**Expectations**
- Own design and optimization of CI/CD toolchain (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Git‑based workflows).
- Deliver automated, repeatable environments using Terraform and configuration‑as‑code.
- Maintain robust monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster‑recovery mechanisms.
- Collaborate daily with software teams and leadership to eliminate workflow friction.
- Proactively advocate modern DevOps practices and influence architectural decisions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Build, extend, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Bitbucket).
- Optimize build, test, and deployment performance with developers.
- Implement and evolve Terraform IaC for on‑prem and AWS infrastructure.
- Provide tooling for monitoring, observability, backups, HA, and DR.
- Troubleshoot production incidents with engineering teammates and root‑cause resolve.
- Identify friction points in engineering workflows and design automated solutions.
- Champion DevOps best practices across product teams.
- Document processes, standards, and tooling for cross‑functional use.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years total in software engineering or platform/DevOps roles.
- Strong command of the full software delivery lifecycle.
- CI/CD expertise (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Git pipelines).
- Infrastructure & configuration as code (Terraform, Ansible/chef/puppet).
- Linux & Windows systems administration.
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
- Container orchestration fundamentals (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Observability stack familiarity (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- AWS fundamentals (IAM, networking, compute, storage).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- No mandatory certifications, though AWS, Kubernetes, or security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, CISSP) are advantageous.
