Job Description
**Job title**: Shift Support Engineer **Role Summary**: Provide on‑site technical support to the Shift Engineer, ensuring plant equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Execute routine maintenance, respond to breakdowns, maintain accurate records, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety, quality, and productivity standards. **Expectations**: - Deliver prompt mechanical and electrical maintenance within production schedules. - Maintain safety‑first culture and comply with all operational safety standards. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and root‑cause analysis efforts. - Manage and update maintenance documentation and reporting. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. Assist the Shift Engineer to keep production equipment running reliably. 2. Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance (PPM) on site machinery. 3. Respond to and troubleshoot machine breakdowns, participating in root cause analysis (RCA). 4. Keep accurate, up‑to‑date maintenance records and documentation. 5. Support plant continuous improvement projects and initiatives. 6. Promote and lead a strong safety culture at all times. **Required Skills**: - Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic maintenance experience. - Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer‑controlled systems. - Proficient in preventive maintenance planning and execution. - Strong analytical and root‑cause analysis skills. - Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities. - Commitment to safety compliance and quality standards. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Apprentice‑trained or equivalent. - Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline. - Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment highly desirable.
