Job Title: Senior Principal Data Scientist / Machine Learning Scientist
Role Summary
Lead product‑focused AI initiatives for a fintech marketplace, driving end‑to‑end data science solutions that improve user experience and business outcomes.
Expectations
• Own the data science strategy across multiple business domains.
• Translate complex analytics into actionable insights for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deliver production‑ready ML models that are scalable, maintainable, and follow CI/CD best practices.
• Stay at the forefront of generative AI, graph‑based ML, and real‑time analytics techniques.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover relationships, patterns, and key features.
• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models in production using cloud‑native ML platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define success metrics, build evaluation frameworks, and continuously monitor model and product performance.
• Innovate with advanced AI techniques to add value to existing processes and create new product features.
• Perform architectural and code reviews to ensure stack health and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to prioritize, prototype, and validate high‑impact solutions.
• Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
Required Skills
• Expert proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Dask).
• Deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms, experimental design, statistical modeling, and evaluation.
• Experience with recommendation systems, classifiers, personalization, and marketplace matching.
• Proven track record of deploying ML solutions at scale using modern platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure ML, MLflow, Kubeflow).
• Familiarity with A/B testing, product metrics, and user behavior analytics.
• Strong programming, debugging, and version‑control skills (Git).
• Ability to write clear documentation and present complex findings.
Required Education & Certifications
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• 6+ years industry experience for MS candidates; 3+ years for PhD candidates.
• Certifications in cloud platforms or ML operations (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, GCP Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
