Job Description
**Job Title:** Research Intern – Computational/Statistical Research **Role Summary:** Full‑time research intern in a bioinformatics lab focusing on statistical and computational methods to decipher gene regulatory mechanisms using multi‑omics, spatial omics, and imaging data in cancer research. The role involves developing and applying novel statistical models, building reproducible pipelines, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. **Expactations:** - Demonstrate strong foundation in statistical theory and computational biology. - Work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment. - Produce reproducible research outputs and maintain code quality. - Communicate findings clearly through written reports or manuscripts. **Key Responsibilities:** - Analyze bulk and single‑cell genomic, spatial omics, and imaging datasets. - Design and implement statistical models to uncover cancer‑specific mechanisms. - Develop and maintain software tools (R packages, Python modules, pipelines, interactive web pages). - Submit and manage batch jobs on Linux high‑performance computing clusters. - Document workflows, ensure reproducibility, and assist with manuscript preparation. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in R, Python, and Unix/Linux shell scripting. - Experience with high‑performance computing and batch job submission. - Hands‑on experience processing bulk/single‑cell genomics, spatial omics, or image data. - Ability to create reproducible pipelines and version‑controlled code (e.g., Git). - Strong statistical knowledge (mathematical statistics, inference, linear regression). - Excellent written and verbal communication; prior publications or manuscript drafts preferred. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. - No specific certifications required; coursework or research experience in statistical methods and computational genomics is essential.
