**Job Title:** Senior Data Scientist – Credit Modeling
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced credit, residual, collection, and recovery models for consumer automotive lending. Translate complex analytical solutions into actionable business insights, support risk management, and drive efficiency across the portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build and validate statistical and machine‑learning models for portfolio performance, CECL forecasting, and residual value estimation.
- Develop, monitor, and deploy origination and collection scorecards.
- Manage end‑to‑end modeling lifecycle: data acquisition, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Produce PowerBI dashboards and reporting solutions for risk tracking, portfolio stability, and executive presentations.
- Quantify credit and residual loss exposure under varied economic scenarios for budgeting and reserve setting.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, treasury, and other stakeholders to integrate model outputs into business processes.
- Provide insights, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior management.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced statistical modeling and machine‑learning techniques (regression, tree‑based models, ensemble methods, deep learning).
- Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, or comparable analytics languages.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and large‑scale data pipelines.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and feature‑engineering capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Project management and ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration and mentorship.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial/credit risk analytics, preferably in automotive or consumer lending.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling tools (Python, R, SAS) and data visualization (PowerBI).
- No specific certifications mandated, but relevant credentials (e.g., FRM, CFA, SAS Certified Data Scientist) are advantageous.
