Job Description
**Job Title:** Information Security Engineer I **Role Summary:** Security Engineer I designs, implements, and maintains enterprise security solutions. The role supports day‑to‑day operation of the Information Security Program, focusing on system administration, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls across email, network, endpoint, and data protection domains. **Expectations:** - Perform core security system administration and incident handling. - Support a rotating on‑call schedule and respond to security alerts and vendor tickets. - Deliver documentation, training, and proactive recommendations for system enhancements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement security systems; document security requirements for solution selection. - Configure, maintain, and monitor security technologies: secure email gateway, firewall, VPN, NAC, secure web gateway, SIEM, endpoint protection, DLP, vulnerability scanners. - Process service requests and incident tickets; triage alerts, mitigate, and escalation per procedures. - Apply patches, upgrades, and configurations aligned with patch and vulnerability management processes. - Conduct change management for security system modifications. - Collaborate with vendors and external partners for support, monitoring, and remediation. - Produce and maintain security diagrams, procedures, and system documentation. - Participate in on‑call rotation and communicate security concerns to management. - Complete role‑specific training and pursue relevant IT/security certifications. **Required Skills:** - 4+ years IT/network/security engineering experience. - Hands‑on administration of endpoint protection, firewall, NAC, web filtering, DLP, and vulnerability scanners. - Troubleshooting IT systems and networks; ticket management and user communication. - Familiarity with enterprise operating systems, networks, and basic database concepts. - Strong written and verbal communication; professional presentation to internal/external stakeholders. - Time‑management, prioritization, and SLA‑focused independent work. - Customer‑service orientation and ability to self‑manage while escalating promptly. - Willingness to work non‑standard hours and on‑call duties. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (preferred). - CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, or equivalent baseline security certification (required).
