Job Description
**Job Title** Technical Specialist – Applied Immunology **Role Summary** Lead technical strategy and execution for ARIA’s Sustained Viral Resilience programme, focused on developing “innate vaccines.” Work alongside the Programme Director and specialist to review proposals, guide technical milestones, and ensure project delivery aligns with high‑impact translational goals. **Expectations** - Adaptable, self‑motivated technical professional. - Strong interest in bridging fundamental immunology with translational medicine. - Ability to drive breakthrough projects and influence strategic direction. **Key Responsibilities** - Act as technical lead: shape programme vision, review grant applications, assess milestones. - Lead technical discussions during project meetings, workshops, and reviews. - Provide evidence‑based insights to inform high‑quality decision‑making. - Communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders (government, funders, ecosystem partners). - Identify emerging trends, technologies, and talent; surface promising opportunities. - Co‑author white papers, open calls, and technical reviews to articulate programme ambitions. - Monitor project delivery against ambitious milestones, benchmark progress vs. state‑of‑the‑art. - Facilitate knowledge cross‑pollination among Creator teams to sustain momentum. - Serve as technical bridge between Programme Director and functional teams. - Represent the programme at external events, workshops, and talks. - Build trusted relationships with world‑class researchers, labs, and founders. - Coordinate with Activation Partners to secure tools, platforms, and networks for Creator teams. **Required Skills** - Advanced knowledge of immunology and vaccine development. - Experience in technical programme management or project leadership. - Strong analytical and evidence‑based decision‑making skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex science to non‑specialists. - Ability to identify and evaluate emerging technologies in a fast‑moving sector. - Collaborative mindset for cross‑disciplinary teamwork. **Required Education & Certifications** - Ph.D. or M.D. in Immunology, Virology, Biomedical Science, or related field. - Relevant post‑doctoral or industry experience in vaccine or innate immunity research. - Continuous professional development in translational science or programme management is an advantage.
