Job Description: Job title: Tim Hortons Cashier Role Summary: Serve guests at a fast‑service coffee shop by taking orders, processing payments, and preparing beverages and food items while ensuring high standards of customer service and food safety. Expectations: - Provide friendly, prompt service, answering questions and promoting menu items. - Operate POS system accurately, handle cash and create balanced cash drops. - Adhere to food preparation recipes, portion control, and health‑and‑safety standards. - Maintain cleanliness of service area and workstations. - Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists. Key Responsibilities: - Greet and welcome customers; take and enter orders into POS. - Accept payment, give correct change, and prepare cash registers. - Prepare and serve coffee, tea, drinks, and food items per recipes. - Operate point‑of‑sale system; pre‑check orders, process checkouts, and close sales. - Perform routine cleaning of equipment, counters, and floor. - Follow opening and closing procedures; complete required checklists. - Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and promote menu items. - Comply with health‑and‑safety and food handling regulations. - Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills: - Minimum 6 months experience in a food‑service or cash‑register environment. - Basic math and cash handling. - Proficient with keyboard and POS operations. - Effective verbal and written communication in English. - Customer‑service orientation; ability to resolve complaints. - Ability to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces. - Detail‑oriented with strong memory for menu items. Required Education & Certifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). - Food Handler’s Permit (or equivalent food‑service certification). - Brand or product knowledge certification as required by Tim Hortons.
