Job Description

IT Security Engineer Role Summary: Manage organizational security posture by mitigating risks, conducting penetration tests, and maintaining compliance with audit standards. Lead security assessments of applications and infrastructure, oversee firewall and intrusion detection systems, and enforce security protocols through continuous monitoring and proactive threat detection. Expactations: Conduct manual and automated penetration testing on web applications, validate new infrastructure security, collaborate with teams on security issues, manage firewalls/internal pentesting, oversee SOC II compliance and external audits, and prioritize tasks via backlog management tools. Key Responsibilities: Perform penetration tests on web applications and infrastructure; validate security protocols for new hardware/software; provide security support to internal teams; manage firewall configurations and SOC II controls; coordinate red/blue team exercises; document findings and implement risk mitigation strategies. Required Skills: 3+ years in web application penetration testing; cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, etc.); hands-on IT security team experience; advanced knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques; SOC II compliance expertise; Linux system administration skills; Agile/Kanban workflow proficiency. Required Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred; CISSP, Security+, or cloud/Linux certifications (e.g., AWS Security, Red Hat) advantageous.
