**Job Title**
Tanium Security Engineer / Administrator
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Tanium solutions to secure and manage endpoints for a DoD customer. Lead configuration, integration, and optimization of Tanium modules while ensuring compliance with DoD security standards and facilitating incident response.
**Expectations**
- Keep the Tanium environment secure, compliant, and fully operational.
- Collaborate with security, operations, and compliance teams to meet mission‑critical objectives.
- Deliver documentation, training, and support to internal stakeholders and end‑users.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Install, configure, and maintain Tanium Core Platform and its components.
- Deploy and manage Tanium clients across the network.
- Create and manage sensors, packages, and saved questions.
- Configure and administer Tanium modules (Discover, Patch, Comply, Threat Response).
- Integrate Tanium with other security and IT management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SIEM).
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct health checks.
- Implement role‑based access controls and enforce security policies.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and API‑based automation.
- Provide end‑user and IT team training on Tanium usage.
- Participate in incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure scalability for large‑scale deployments and maintain documentation.
**Required Skills**
- Deep knowledge of the Tanium platform and its modules.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell).
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with network protocols, security concepts, and SIEM integration.
- Knowledge of DoD 8140, RMF, STIG, ITILv4, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to work in classified environments (SIPR network) and hold a DoD Secret clearance.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, SharePoint).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related field *or* 10 years of relevant experience (or 5 years with a bachelor’s).
- DoD Secret clearance.
- Security+ certification (minimum).
- Experience with RMF, STIG, ITILv4, and Agile Scrum.
- Preferred certifications: Tanium Certified Operator/Administrator, CISSP, CEH.
