**Job Title:** AWS Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized AWS environments. Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code, automate operations, support migration to cloud‑native architectures, and ensure compliance and reliability for mission‑critical workloads.
**Expactations:**
- Deliver reliable AWS infrastructure aligned with business and security requirements.
- Drive automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) initiatives.
- Optimize costs and enforce governance policies.
- Provide technical mentorship and maintain clear documentation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, databases).
- Implement IaC using Terraform and/or CloudFormation for repeatable deployments.
- Configure monitoring and logging with CloudWatch, Config, and related tools.
- Lead cloud migration and application refactoring for cloud‑native solutions.
- Design backup, disaster recovery, and cross‑region failover strategies.
- Apply cost‑optimization techniques (tagging, rightsizing, reporting).
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance and governance.
- Enable CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices with development teams.
- Mentor team members on AWS best practices and automation.
- Produce and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge‑base articles.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong expertise in core AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience with monitoring/logging solutions (CloudWatch, Config, CloudTrail).
- Hands‑on with DevOps tools (CI/CD, Git, Jenkins/CodePipeline, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Security clearance: Secret (ability to obtain Top‑Secret).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 3–5 years of direct experience managing AWS cloud environments.
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are preferred but not mandatory.
