**Job Title:** Azure Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Hands‑on engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and operating secure, scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform IaC. Provides day‑to‑day operational support, incident resolution, and collaborates on cloud migration and new development initiatives.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver Azure solutions that meet performance, availability, and security standards.
- Maintain infrastructure as code and ensure compliance with governance policies.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and act as escalation point for critical Azure incidents.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and continuous improvement of automation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, provision, and manage Azure resources (VMs, App Services, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, VNets, NSGs, etc.) via Terraform.
- Implement Azure Policies, RBAC, and security controls in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
- Perform monitoring, patching, backup, performance tuning, and health checks.
- Lead root‑cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long‑term fixes.
- Collaborate with development, security, and architecture teams on cloud‑native designs and migrations.
- Produce design docs, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging tools to enhance automation and reliability.
**Required Skills:**
- 3+ years managing production Azure environments, especially public‑facing web applications.
- Strong Terraform expertise for IaC implementation.
- Deep knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, DNS, load balancers).
- Experience with Azure Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Virtual Machines, and App Services.
- Proficient in Azure monitoring/logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- Troubleshooting under pressure; incident response and escalation.
- Scripting ability with PowerShell or Bash.
- Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Understanding of cloud security best practices.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field **or** equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400).
