**Job Title:** Applications Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Technical specialist responsible for pre‑sales consulting, post‑sales support, and integration of advanced vision systems. Works closely with sales, R&D, and marketing to deliver tailored hardware/software solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction across the Americas region.
**Expectations:**
- Hybrid work environment (office + remote).
- Up to 25 % domestic and international travel, including onsite customer visits and trade shows.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond quickly to urgent customer needs, and see projects through to completion.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide technical guidance during pre‑sales, collaborating with Sales Managers to select optimal camera and software configurations.
- Act as primary technical contact for machine‑vision integration projects, driving solution design and implementation.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Customizations, Marketing, R&D) on unique customer requests.
- Deliver technical troubleshooting and support using tools such as Salesforce, email, phone, and MS Teams.
- Conduct in‑lab feasibility testing, generate image data, and document replication steps for customers.
- Modify and coach customers on using Basler’s code base for product integration (C++, C#, .NET, Python).
- Develop and maintain product demos for trade shows and training events.
- Support RMA process: evaluate requests, perform physical testing, document findings in SAP.
**Required Skills:**
- Programming: C++, C#, .NET; Python preferred.
- Experience with computer vision, machine vision, embedded systems, and AI/ML concepts.
- Knowledge of camera interfaces (GigE, USB, Camera Link, CoaXPress) and familiarity with 2D, line‑scan, or 3D cameras.
- Understanding of electronics, circuit analysis, and components.
- Proficient with Windows OS; Linux/macOS a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication; ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities; customer‑focused service mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in vision systems, embedded hardware/software, or related technical support.
