We offer affordable primary healthcare services, including medical, medical walk-in, dental, physical therapy, and pharmacy at several locations throughout Snohomish County. In addition to our standard clinics, we operate school-based health centers in local schools and run outreach programs in partnership with other local non-profits. Job Description
Job Title: Payment Posting Specialist Role Summary: Responsible for accurate and timely entry of insurance payments, adjustments, and denials into patient financial systems. Reconciles billing transactions, maintains revenue trackers, and supports month‑end closing processes in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle team. Expectations: Deliver at least 150 key presses per minute with 97% accuracy; typical typing speed 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Process patient payments within 5 days of receipt. Produce financial reports and reconciliations on schedule. Maintain a near‑zero error rate and promptly report underpayments or discrepancies. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret EOBs from multiple carriers and post payments to appropriate patient encounters with minimal error. - Adjust postings for commercial, state, and government plans as required. - Process mailed and EHR‑generated payments within designated turnaround time. - Balance daily posting batches in the Practice Management System and report issues to the supervisor. - Collaborate with teammates to achieve monthly departmental close within three business days. - Communicate payment discrepancies, underpayments, and research needs to supervisors and relevant stakeholders. Required Skills: - Proficient written and oral communication in English. - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD‑10 coding, and insurance billing concepts. - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Ability to work independently, make decisions on sensitive information, and support a team‑oriented culture. Required Education & Certifications: - High School diploma or equivalent. - Minimum 2 years of medical payment posting experience. - 1 year of ICD‑10 coding experience. - Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by the American Academy of Professional Coders (preferred).
