Job Description: **Job Title:** Staff AI Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, implement, and evolve end‑to‑end AI capabilities that drive product value. Lead AI initiatives, set quality standards, and deliver production‑ready LLM solutions while mentoring and scaling a small AI team. **Expectations:** - 8+ years of technical leadership with a recent focus on AI/ML. - Proven startup experience, preferably as a founder or senior engineer. - Deep expertise in LLMs, prompt engineering, evaluation, observability, RAG, RAG flows, search technologies, and agent frameworks. - Autonomous project ownership, strong decision‑making, and a bias for rapid iteration. - Product‑oriented mindset with clear communication and mentoring skills. **Key Responsibilities:** - Analyze AI quality and performance; architect experiments and new technologies. - Define metrics, tools, and processes to continuously improve AI quality. - Own project lifecycle: scope, prioritize, deliver, and maintain AI features with minimal guidance. - Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers to align on roadmap and avoid bottlenecks. - Ensure codebase maintainability and low technical debt for long‑term extensibility. - Guide the AI development process and mentor newer team members. **Required Skills:** - Strong software engineering fundamentals; experience delivering production software. - Expertise in LLMs, prompt engineering, evaluation, observability, RAG, search, and agent frameworks. - Ability to conduct research/analysis and implement production solutions. - Proactive, action‑oriented mindset suited to fast‑paced startup environments. - Excellent written and verbal communication; experience mentoring team members. - Ownership, accountability, and the ability to handle commitments transparently. **Required Education & Certifications:** Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
