Job title: Android Developer
Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance native Android applications for innovative mobility, banking, and retail projects within a cross‑functional, agile environment. Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product owners, QA teams, and iOS developers to deliver cohesive, user‑centric mobile experiences.
Expectations: Minimum 3 years of professional Android development; prior experience with React Native or iOS/Swift; proficiency in Kotlin and Java with Jetpack Compose; knowledge of Firebase, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines; solid grasp of Git, GitFlow, and a hosting service (GitHub, GitLab, Azure, etc.); fluent in French and English (Flemish optional); active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build new features for native Android apps in domains such as MaaS, banking, and consumer retail.
- Maintain existing applications: bug resolution, performance tuning, and version releases.
- Write clear, maintainable, well‑documented code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams (designers, product owners, QA, other mobile developers) on Android and iOS platforms.
- Attend daily scrums, technical meetings, and sprint planning.
- Analyze crash logs, propose corrective actions, and work with QA to validate fixes.
- Deploy beta releases via online services and manage publishing to Google Play Store.
Required Skills: Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, Firebase, Android Studio, Detekt, KTLint, Zeplin, Slack, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD tools, Git/GitFlow, Agile/Scrum methodology, bug‑tracking systems, performance profiling, and basic understanding of iOS/React Native concepts.
Required Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., Android Certified Developer) are a plus.
