About the Company

In 1968, Petron set out to be the leader in Open Gear lubricants. Our trademark product (Gear Shield(r)) is environmentally friendly and leads the industry in FZG wear test and Lambda film thickness performance for open gears. The performance of Gear Shield over the decades has allowed Petron to be recognized as a global leader for open gear applications for mills. As our customer base has grown, requests for Petron to provide products to solve solutions has increased as well. Our R&D and manufacturing capabilities allow us to focus on the development of products that are driven by application needs to ensure customers have the finest products. Over the years our product line has grown from OGL's to other performance lubricant products such as greases, gear oils, and other specialty products. Petron's product portfolio has grown, but our intention has remained the same: develop products that deliver performance for customers. Providing lubricants for our customers is only half of what allows Petron to be successful. Petron's service group leads the industry with Flair technology to enhance inspections of customers applications. You can find Petron products and people servicing mining, steel, cement, wind and many other industries requiring performance. As the world's industries evolve, so too will Petron's ability to provide performance lubricants.
