Job Description
Job Title: Director of Sales & Marketing Role Summary: Lead the commercial vision for a full‑service resort, directing revenue growth, brand positioning, and cross‑functional team performance across Group, Corporate, Association, Leisure, Golf, and Event segments. Responsible for strategic planning, digital and conventional marketing, partnership development, and financial analysis to achieve revenue and RevPAR objectives. Expectations: - Minimum five (5) years as a Director of Sales & Marketing in a luxury or upscale resort/hotel environment, preferably independent properties. - Demonstrated success in developing commercial strategy, leading high‑performing sales teams, and exceeding revenue targets. - Strong knowledge of the Florida hospitality market or comparable markets. - Ability to manage change, collaborate across departments, and travel up to 10% for sales missions and industry events. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement sales and marketing plans, budgets, and integrated calendars aligned with revenue goals. - Lead digital marketing, social media, paid media, SEO/SEM campaigns to boost direct bookings and brand visibility. - Manage and mentor sales teams across all market segments, ensuring collaborative cross‑departmental execution. - Build and maintain relationships with key clients, travel planners, third‑party vendors, and community partners. - Work closely with Revenue Management and Operations to optimize rate strategies, package development, and guest experience initiatives. - Analyze market data (STR, competitive, guest segmentation) to identify opportunities, guide forecasting, and support long‑term planning. - Represent the resort as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and local tourism boards. - Partner with PR and creative agencies to execute media campaigns and secure press coverage. - Provide performance reporting and presentations to ownership and senior leadership. - Travel up to 10% for client meetings, site tours, and industry events. Required Skills: - Strategic commercial planning and execution. - Leadership and people management across sales, marketing, and events functions. - Digital marketing proficiency (SEO/SEM, social media, paid media) and data analytics. - CRM experience (Delphi.fdc or similar). - Financial analysis, forecasting, and strong Excel skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills. - Relationship building with guests, planners, agencies, and industry partners. - Adaptability, collaborative mindset, and results orientation. - Understanding of hospitality revenue management concepts. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). - Certifications in digital marketing, CRM, or sales management (e.g., Certified Hospitality Sales Professional, digital marketing credentials).
