Job Description
**Job Title:** Manufacturing Test Software Intern **Role Summary:** Support the development and maintenance of software tools used for calibration, validation, and testing of electromechanical and robotic systems in a professional 3D printer manufacturing environment. Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable testing solutions, perform hardware modifications, and analyze production data. **Expectations:** - Full‑time commitment (40 hours/week) during Winter/Spring 2026. - Deliver functional software features from concept to production. - Manage cross‑functional requirements and deliver on schedule. - Own the full lifecycle of test‑tool software, including design, validation, documentation, deployment, and maintenance. - Apply data science techniques to provide actionable insights to operations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain advanced Python‑based software tools for calibration, validation, and testing of printers and robotic systems. - Coordinate with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to define test requirements and timelines. - Modify printer hardware and test setups to support experimental procedures. - Design, validate, document, deploy, and maintain the test‑tool ecosystem. - Analyze production line data using SQL and data science methods to recommend improvements. - Continuously improve software development and deployment processes across global factories. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Linux. - Experience with software integration into embedded systems and complex electromechanical systems. - Knowledge of robotics and familiarity with Linux‑based robotics platforms. - Ability to solve real‑world engineering problems creatively. - Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. - Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines preferred. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrollment or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. - No specific certifications required, but coursework or projects involving embedded systems, robotics, or data analysis is advantageous.
