**Job Title:** DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:** Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available production infrastructure on AWS, primarily leveraging Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh. Automate deployments, improve observability, and collaborate closely with product teams to inform architectural decisions.
**Expectations:**
- Own end‑to‑end infrastructure lifecycle and be accountable for reliability, performance, and cost.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, self‑motivation, and teamwork within an agile platform team.
- Exhibit at least 5 years of DevOps or related cloud engineering experience.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build, deploy, and maintain production infrastructure on AWS, focusing on Kubernetes (EKS) and service mesh.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools.
- Troubleshoot and debug application and infrastructure incidents; participate in on‑call rotation.
- Enhance observability through monitoring, alerting, and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).
- Advise product teams on infrastructure and architectural choices, providing scalability insights.
- Continuously improve processes, tooling, and platform reliability.
**Required Skills:**
- Kubernetes & Docker container orchestration.
- Istio (traffic management, security, observability).
- Linux system administration.
- AWS services (EKS, CloudWatch, S3, IAM, VPC).
- CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- IaC: Terraform, Ansible.
- Monitoring/Alerting: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
- Databases: SQL, NoSQL, OpenSearch.
- Programming: Scala (Akka/Pekko, Cats), Python, Java.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar cloud certification is desirable but not mandatory.
