Job Description

**Job Title:** Data Analyst (Power BI) – Contract **Role Summary:** Contract Power BI Data Analyst responsible for designing, building, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data models to support senior leadership and project teams in a large public‑sector sustainability and infrastructure programme. Ensures data quality, governance, and clear communication of insights across multiple stakeholders. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑impact Power BI visualisations on tight timelines. - Maintain data integrity and adhere to governance standards. - Communicate technical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences. - Collaborate across digital, data, and technology teams in an agile environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, publish, and support Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for multiple projects. - Extract, combine, transform, and cleanse data from heterogeneous sources using Power Query and DAX. - Translate raw data into actionable insights for senior leaders and project teams. - Implement and monitor data governance, quality assurance, and audit procedures. - Partner with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure consistent data standards. - Present findings and recommendations in clear, engaging formats (charts, narratives, presentations). **Required Skills:** - Advanced proficiency with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, semantic modelling). - Strong data analysis, cleansing, and visualisation expertise. - Experience handling large, complex multi‑source datasets. - Knowledge of data governance, QA processes, and basic statistical methods. - Excellent stakeholder management and ability to explain technical concepts in plain language. - Agile mindset with proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) preferred but not mandatory.
