**Job Title:** Director of Business Development – Higher Education (Food Service Management) **Role Summary:** Strategic sales leader responsible for expanding contract foodservice management solutions within the higher education sector. Drives revenue growth by building a qualified pipeline, managing RFPs, and delivering customized proposals that align with institutional needs. Works remotely with national travel, collaborating cross‑functionally to craft client‑centric solutions. **Expectations:** - Deliver annual revenue targets and contribute to overall business strategy. - Build and maintain a three‑year pipeline of qualified prospects. - Manage full sales cycle from discovery to contract negotiation. - Ensure accurate and timely data in CRM and provide regular leadership reporting. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Develop and execute sales strategies targeting colleges and universities. 2. Build and manage a robust three‑year pipeline; use CRM for tracking and communication. 3. Evaluate RFPs/RFIs; lead pricing, technical proposals, and financial modeling. 4. Initiate and nurture client relationships through discovery meetings, presentations, tastings, and contract negotiations. 5. Conduct industry and market research; update positioning and sales process accordingly. 6. Maintain knowledge of contracting regulations and institutional requirements. 7. Partner with culinary, operations, marketing, and leadership teams to develop client‑centered solutions. 8. Provide regular updates to leadership on sales activity, pipeline status, and market intelligence. **Required Skills:** - Proven B2B sales experience in foodservice or related contract solutions. - Strong consultative selling and relationship‑building skills. - Experience managing RFP/RFI processes and pricing models. - Proficiency with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and data analysis. - Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication abilities. - Ability to travel nationally and work independently in a remote environment. - Knowledge of higher education market dynamics and regulatory compliance. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field. - Preferred: MBA or advanced degree; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional).
