Job Description: **Job Title:** Early Years Educator **Role Summary:** Deliver high‑quality care and early education to children aged 0‑5 in a nursery and forest‑school environment. Create a safe, nurturing setting, monitor child development, collaborate with families and staff, and uphold safeguarding and health‑safety standards. **Expectations:** - Hold a minimum Level 2 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent). - Demonstrate proven experience in a nursery or early‑years setting. - Show strong knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding, and health & safety. - Exhibit patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children. - Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with parents. - Maintain accurate records and adhere to all compliance requirements, including an enhanced DBS check. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide daily care and age‑appropriate educational activities for children 0‑5. - Observe, assess, and document each child’s development, flagging concerns promptly. - Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and organized at all times. - Implement and follow health, safety, and safeguarding procedures. - Build positive relationships with parents, sharing progress and supporting individual needs. - Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver a curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Forest School principles. - Contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Required Skills:** - Strong observational and assessment abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to maintain detailed records and administrative paperwork. - Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing needs. - Basic first‑aid knowledge and commitment to health & safety standards. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum Level 2 Early Years Educator qualification (or comparable full Early Years qualification). - Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance (subject to successful check). - Two professional references. - Additional Level 3 qualification preferred but not mandatory.
