Job Description

Job title: Back End Developer Role Summary: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Groovy, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high reliability and performance. Expectations: Produce clean, well‑tested code; mentor junior engineers; contribute to architectural decisions; monitor production systems; work efficiently in a fast‑paced, contract environment. Key Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and maintain backend services in Java/Groovy. * Build and optimize RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems. * Design efficient data models for relational and NoSQL databases. * Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, QA, and product teams. * Write maintainable, well‑tested code and conduct code reviews. * Mentor junior engineers and support continuous learning. * Participate in architectural and technical design discussions. * Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure high availability of production systems. Required Skills: * 7+ years professional backend development experience. * Strong proficiency in Java; hands‑on experience with Groovy. * Expertise in Spring Boot or Grails frameworks. * Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. * Experience with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB). * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). * Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
